She came with her nickname "ten-ten" as in 10-10 because she was born October 10 :). Quite easy to remember her birthday! hehehe...
Welcome to the Christian world, ten-ten!
We had a delicious lunch right after the ceremony at their house.

Very next day after the wedding, it was our 1-month old niece's baptism, and we were thankful enough to be chosen as her godparents! An uncle-auntie godparents! ;). The baptism ceremony was held at the same church where the wedding was!

Today is my big brother's wedding! It was a good idea to hire a make up artist and we requested for a home service. We moved to another inn the day before the wedding because we were only booked at Villa Gregoria for 2 nights. I couldn't recall what happened because it was my brother who did all the transactions. Anyhow, we didn't complain. We understood how busy he was running like crazy with errands and all for his big day! We were already thankful enough they found another inn, much closer to my sister in-law's house. And so, the make up session went on as usual..lol! I was happy with my look ;). It was a long day, going to church and the wedding ceremony, - then to the reception, where Craig was the toastmaster! It was a good thing to see our family relatives (cousins and aunts) from Tabuk as well.
That was a perfect day to have the "get-to-know" each other with all the members of the family of both the bride and the groom. Phew! Tiring day, but full of fun, met many relatives both old and new! So, our clan is getting bigger than ever! :) This is actually our early birthday treat for him. His birthday is 13 days early, so just go figure ;). We went for a lunch at Breakthrough Restaurant overlooking the beach. It was so relaxing to feel the breeze and enjoy the beach view after a sumptuous lunch! Miggy surely enjoyed his birthday cake while we sang for him a happy birthday song. ( T'was tough blowing those candles, eh? ) It was unfortunate that his dad wasn't around, but our presence surely helped him not to miss his dad ;).
After lunch, we went malling. Kiddos enjoyed it. A day after our arrival, and here we were at Imay's Restaurant for a family dinner. It was a nice bonding together and to see our nephew (Miggy) and our little niece (Martina). These little ones are just our inspirations when coming home for our vacation. :) Of course, the entire family is a big inspiration as a whole. There is nothing as special like family bonding time. While waiting for the dinner, we dropped by at Mai & John's (Rogers) house. I was able to hold little Emily in my arms for the first time...heartwarming! (Why oh, why that nobody took a photo of me carrying her at all?! ) On the other note, I was able to meet and greet Zoey - John & Mai's dog. She was such a sweetie! Ahhh...it was a nice bonding together as a family! We then proceeded to visit uncle Jack's grave, then went to Oasis Restaurant in Austin thereafter for the dinner. The place has a lot of scenic and amazing views, particularly the sunset as the highlight!
Upon learning about the sad news from Austin, Texas, Craig and I thought of getting an urgent flight for Austin.
I haven't met uncle Jack personally, and it was a sad thought to consider that I only got to see him on his death :(. We arrived March 30th, and the funeral was done the next day after our arrival. We checked in at a nearby hotel close to their home ad a close drive to their place. It was the first time for me to meet the Rogers family in TX on this day of bereavement. How I wished I have met them all in the midst of a happy reunion...but God's will is always the best! On the other hand, - there was a life lost, yet a new life was given! When uncle Jack passed away, his first grandchild was born, - Emily. We never know what are God's plans but Emily is a blessing given ;). |
